About the DU General Science Society
The DU General Science Society (SciSoc) is a relatively new society, having been established in 2016. The goal of the society is to foster public understanding and appreciation of general scientific matters of interest without a high degree of specialisation and without the use of highly technical terms or data so as to create a community of those interested in science, regardless of scientific knowledge or academic background. Since then, we have gone from strength to strength and this year should be our best year yet!

Our efforts were recognised in 2017 at the Central Societies Committee's (CSC) Society of the Year Awards, with SciSoc winning the 'Best New Society' award; and more recently in 2022 for the 'Best Collaborative Event' for our 'Queer People in STEM Bingo'.
